Marketing for the film opening MATCH3D!
Marketing
I am going to be marketing our film opening to make people aware of our movie. Marketing is an important process that crafts the audience's opinion before the movie even comes out. I definitely want to use marketing to our advantage to make people excited to watch. Starting with a teaser trailer. The trailer will be voiced by Damien; he will be talking about his opinion on Nova. He will be very broad, almost like he is scared she will come for him for telling the story. This trailer will not give out a lot of information about the plot, but it will show that the movie is a thriller genre, it will have our title drop, and it will have our social issue in it. We want the audience to feel like they are left on a cliff hanger kind of confused so they will have to watch the movie to see what happened. This is the script we came up with for the trailer.
Damien: Have you ever met someone... and it feels so natural talking to them?
Damien: Like you've met them before?
Damien: That's what it felt like when I matched with Nova online.
Damien: She invited me over for drinks; I was so excited to finally meet her in person. Until I realized everything was different, then it seemed.
Damien: She was so pretty, blonde hair, green trustworthy eyes, and such a sweet girl.
Damien: But I was wrong...
Damien: And she is still out there.
I will use a lot of insert shots and close ups, so we don't give away too much plot or room for assumption. I will also use these types of camera shots so I can make the trailer slow pace to create tension. I also made a movie poster to gain attracting to tone of the movie. The movie poster I made has a deep red background to unconsciously make the viewer feel uncomfortable because it is the color red. I put a blonde girl in a dress walking away with her back turned and a silhouette of a black shadow to show that she isn't who she seems like. I made the poster an older style by doing the drawing and minimalistic feel to give the poster a creepier vibe. I want the audience to know that nova is different than she seems but not anything else about the plot when they look at the poster. On the poster I will have the images, the title (MATCH3D), the staff of production, and a message that gives the view an idea about the social issue. The message will be “Hidden behind a screen...”. I will be going on a podcast, continue to post on social media, and come out with merch to get people excited for the air of the movie.
